Monday Made-It AND Meet-Up!!

I'm once again linking up with The Teaching Tribune for their Summer Bloggin series. Today is another Monday Meet-Me, and we're supposed to share three things we're thankful for...here we go! (**Be sure to read to the bottom of the post, there's a GIVEAWAY!! ;))

I'm also linking up for my first Monday Made-It!!

http://4thgradefrolics.blogspot.com/2014/06/monday-made-it-summer-week-5.html

I saw this Birthday Chair idea from Mrs. Richardson's Class on last week's Monday-Made It and loved the idea! Normally I would just put a little Silly Straw Birthday Balloon on the student's desk the morning of their birthday. I also had a chair cover from the Dollar Tree I'd slip over their chair. After I saw her blog post, I thought this idea seemed WAY more fun and special!!

I had this chair on hand already from college. I do wish it wasn't pink, but it was definitely the cheaper route as opposed to buying a new one. ;) If the boys complain about it I may give it a quick spray paint job, but we'll see.

I added these letter and jewel stickers from Michaels, and...

This was the quickest and easiest project and I know the kiddos will LOVE it!! :)

My bigger Monday Made-It project this week was this blog -- it got a makeover completely designed by me! I have zero experience with this kind of thing, and I was really happy with how it's turned out so far! :)

Last but not least, I hit 50 Facebook followers last weekend, I'm so excited!! I'd LOVE to get to 100 by this weekend, and so I'm doing a little $10 TPT gift card giveaway on Facebook this week. Go check it out now!!!

  2. Your birthday chair is adorable! I don't think the color will be a problem for your boys. My 2nd grade boys actually liked pink this past year. I too am so thankful for all the ideas I get from teacher blogs, Pinterest, and TpT. I'd be lost without them.

  3. I love your chair! I'm going to do something similar this year since after 13 years I need a little change. I teach art so I only hope there aren't two children in one class with the same birthday or they'll have to share!

  4. I'm loving this idea! My school district doesn't allow edible birthday treats, so I'm always searching for some fun easy ways to celebrate!

  5. Your birthday chair is so cute! If I had a closet in my classroom or somewhere to store it I would totally copy your idea. I doubt the boys will care that much, it is a fun chair!

    1. Thanks so much!! :) I specifically used a chair that folds up nicely so I can tuck it between my bookshelf and the wall when it's not in use!

    1. I think I got the chair at Target several years ago. I was going to make one for a Kindergarten teacher friend, but didn't know where in the world I would find a tiny chair! :)

  13. I have found that boys don't really mind pink so much...and I teach 5th grade. I have pink all over my room with some blue, green, and yellow thrown in. Since I am the Queen of my classroom, they will just have to deal if they don't like it. Lol! Your chair is perfect!

  14. Love the birthday chair. I totally FAILED in the birthday department this last year. Even forgot a few kiddos birthdays (the shy ones that didn't want to mention it to me). I have one of those chairs!! Totally going to add this to my MUST make list! Thanks for sharing!! Oh and congrats on the 50 followers! I followed too!!
